The biggest event in British basketball is returning to Birmingham’s National Indoor Arena (NIA) as the British Basketball League (BBL) Finals Weekend takes place over the Bank Holiday weekend of Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd May.

Tickets are now on sale for an event that sees the four best teams & all the best players in British basketball, along with 10,000 hoops fans, converge on the NIA for an unforgettable weekend.
The BBL Finals Weekend is the culmination of the British Basketball League Championship season, and the pinnacle of many a player’s career. After a 33-game regular season, the top eight teams in the country progress to the BBL Championship Playoff quarter-finals. Those that are successful make it to the NIA for Saturday 2nd May’s semi-finals, with the winning teams progressing to Sunday’s season finale and the contest that will crown the 2008/09 BBL Playoff Champions.
In a new addition to the weekend spectacular, this year’s event will also host the 2009 BBL All Star Game involving the best players from all round the League.
Tickets purchased prior to the 31st March 2009 qualify for incredible discounts with tickets for the whole weekend, and all four games, available from just £25 for adults and £17 for children; daily tickets start from just £18 for adults and £11 for children (booking fee may apply).

It is the sixth time that the illustrious event has been staged at this venue in Britain’s second city, a hotbed for basketball, since the turn of the century. In the embryonic days of professional basketball in the UK, the late 80s and early 90s, the event was staged at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) on three occasions.
The event also features a host of other entertainment over the weekend including the world reknown Crazy Dunkers from France, BBL Babes, mascots, and much more. They will keep the crowds on their toes in between the biggest games of the basketball season.
