The NIA will once again be lit up with lights, lasers and special effects when Classical Spectacular returns in December.
The inspiring set includes Copland’s Fanfare For The Common Man, Mars from Holst’s The Planets, Semper Fidelis by Sousa, Grand March from Verdi’s Aida, Pachelbel’s Canon, O Sole Mio by Di Capua, Verdi’s Sempre Libera, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice by Dukas, Light Cavalry Overture by Suppe, Intermezzo & Easter Hymn from Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana, Tchaikovsky’s Waltz Of The Flowers from The Nutcracker and Parry’s Hornpipe.
Classical Spectacular will be performed by the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra ( and conducted by John Rigby, featuring tenor Paul O’Neill and soprano Stephanie Corley. Joining this prestigious ensemble are The English Concert Chorus and Muskets and Cannons of the Moscow Militia.
The traditional favourites will feature, including Rule Britannia!, Land Of Hope And Glory, Nessun Dorma and the dramatic finale of the 1812 Overture with thundering muskets and cannons, accompanied by an explosive indoor fireworks and laser show.
This year’s Classical Spectacular will be a truly memorable event.
